On November 30, 2024, the National FLASH Radiotherapy Technology Symposium of 2024 opened in Mianyang, Sichuan. During the conference, Liu Xianhong, the Executive Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Zhongjiu Flash Medical Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote report titled "Electronic FLASH Radiotherapy Technology: From Laboratory Exploration to Clinical Practice," delving into the latest advancements in electronic FLASH radiotherapy technology and presenting Zhongjiu's research findings, injecting new momentum into the development of global oncology treatment technologies.

FLASH radiotherapy technology, as an emerging radiation therapy method, is of great significance for improving the quality of life and treatment outcomes for cancer patients. In his report, Liu Xianhong introduced an overview of global electronic FLASH trial equipment and detailed the latest achievements of Zhongjiu Flash in the field of FLASH radiotherapy technology. He stated that the company has successfully developed the e-Flash radiotherapy device, which can complete treatment within milliseconds, significantly reducing side effects during treatment, enhancing therapeutic effects, and featuring mobility, precise control, high-load flexible traction, and visual guidance for automatic positioning, among other characteristics. Additionally, the company is actively advancing the development of the X-Flash radiotherapy system, expected to complete type inspection and enter the clinical trial phase by 2025.

The report also shared successful cases of FLASH radiotherapy technology in animal trials, demonstrating the successful verification of the FLASH effect in multiple parts of animals and that FLASH irradiation has equally good tumor control effects compared to conventional radiation methods.

Liu Xianhong also proposed plans and preliminary schemes for future clinical trials at Zhongjiu, including intended use, range of trial diseases, trial design, selection and exclusion criteria for subjects, and trial procedures. He emphasized that Zhongjiu Flash will adhere to strict scientific and ethical standards to ensure the safety and efficacy of clinical trials. At the same time, Zhongjiu Flash will collaborate with top medical institutions worldwide to jointly promote the clinical research and application of FLASH radiotherapy technology, aiming to provide higher-quality treatment plans for global oncology patients.
